Speaking of wine, how about a glass of red?
This shot is my favourite from a series I did as homework for a community college photo course a couple of years ago. The task was to tell a story with a short series of photos, and I decided to introduce a modern view of Louhi, the queen of Pohjola in the national epic of Finland, the Kalevala.
Among her other qualities, Louhi is a strong leader, wise healer, and a generous host - or rather, that’s how they would describe her if she was a man. Being a woman, she is traditionally depicted as an evil, greedy witch, the nemesis of the (male) heroes of Kalevala.
