Stepping out of my comfort zone

When I first picked up my parents’ old SLR camera in the mid-90s, I visualised myself taking awesome black and white portraits of people. I’d develop and print them myself in my darkroom, and I’d exhibit them in galleries around Finland, and then abroad. Maybe I’d specialise in taking high-contrast, low-key portraits of musicians and bands for different magazines.

Look mum, I have a webshop!

I haven’t really updated the photo galleries on my site that often recently, the blog almost seemed to dry up after only two posts, and I’ve also been a bit more quiet than usual on social media. Not because I’ve been lazy or anything. Not at all! It’s because I’ve been busy setting up my brand new webshop!

Playing with food

I must be fun to cook with. As you can see, I love photographing food and its ingredients in particular. And since I’m not going to chop up a ton of garlic and chilli just to get nice pictures of them, I’m obviously going to shoot them while cooking. So, a word of advice: if you ever plan to cook anything with me, have a snack first!

Welcome to my visual world

Photography has been an integral part of my life for the past 20 or so years, and after taking up digital photography around 2008 I’ve published some of my photos in various online photography portals. Up till now, however, I’ve never had my own photography website or portfolio online.
